Media man Greg Price likens the legal ban of TikTok to an overreaching Patriot Act for the Internet. While a ban on the Chinese application has its benefits, the government of course has ulterior motives that would go beyond a simple ban on the app. The legal jargon included in the bill gives the federal government the authority to go after any dissenting voices or information deemed to be a ‘national security threat’ on ANY Internet platforms/applications.
