Inflation bill doubles size of the IRS

One of the provisions of the Inflation Reduction Act that’s receiving a considerable amount of attention is a massive cash infusion for the Internal Revenue Service. The bill would spend more than 79 billion dollars on the IRS over the next 10 years, which is expected to go toward hiring 87,000 new agents, roughly doubling the size of the agency.
