WATCH: Youngkin Says Parents Have ‘Fundamental Right’ to Make Decisions for Their Children

Virginia Governor Glenn Youngkin delivered his first address to a a joint session yesterday and doubled down on his commitment to empowering parents to make decisions on the education of their children.

“My message to parents is this, you have a fundamental right, enshrined in law by this General Assembly, to make decisions with regard to your child’s upbringing, education and care. And we will protect and reassert that right.”

The line received a standing ovation…from GOP members of the legislature. Democrats sat silent in protest.
