By The FirstFlorida Governor Ron DeSantis called his state ‘America’s West Berlin’ Monday; saying countless citizens fled to cities like Tampa and Fort Lauderdale as the region became the country’s “free zone” during the pandemic.
“We are effectively America’s West Berlin over the last year. People have viewed this as a free zone. Where they move to follow their dreams, but also just to visit to escape the more repressive policies. That includes people that imposed repressive policies!” said DeSantis.
