VAX OR TAX: Rhode Island Dems Intro Bill to Mandate Vax, Failure to Comply Doubles Taxes

Democrats in Rhode Island introduced a COVID-19 vaccination mandate that hands out serious penalties for those who fail to comply: double the income taxes.

“Every person of at least sixteen years of age who is eligible for immunization against COVID-19 and who resides in the State of Rhode Island, works in the State of Rhode Island, or pays personal income taxes to the State of Rhode Island pursuant to chapter 30 of title 44 shall be required to be immunized against COVID-19,” the bill states.

“Any person who violates this chapter shall be required to pay a monthly civil penalty of fifty dollars ($50.00) and shall owe twice the amount of personal income taxes as would otherwise be assessed pursuant to chapter 30 of title 44.”

Columnist Phil Kerpen shared the bill on Twitter:

“This is real legislation introduced by Democrats in Rhode Island. Everyone is mandated to take COVID vaccines. If you or your kids don’t, you pay DOUBLE on your state income taxes,” Kerpen tweeted along with a link to the bill.

Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX) shared Kerpen’s tweet, adding “THIS is today’s Democrat Party.”
