THELMA & THE SLEAZE: Actress Susan Sarandon Blasted for Anti-Cop Tweet During NYPD Funeral

How tonedeaf do you have to be to criticize a police department on the day of a fallen officer’s funeral? As tonedeaf as actress Susan Sarandon.

According to the Daily Caller, Sarandon posted an image of a tweet reading, ‘I’m gonna tell my kids this is what fascism looks like,’ captioning an image of the funeral procession of Jason Rivera, a 22-year-old New York City police officer, who was shot dead while responding to a domestic violence call in Harlem. Rivera’s partner, 27-year-old Wilbert Mora, was also shot at the scene, and died of his injuries last Tuesday.”

Sarandon added, “So, if all these cops weren’t needed for CRIME that day, doesn’t that mean they aren’t needed ANY day?”

“This is what privilege looks like: a wealthy actress, safe in her bubble, mocking heroes & making light of the crisis that cops are battling alongside our communities,” the Police Benevolent Association of the City of New York tweeted Thursday.

“NYC is uniting to stop the violence — @SusanSarandon is living on a different planet.”
