THAT’S THE PLAN? Treasury Secretary Says She ‘Hopes Inflation Will Come Down’

Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen explained the administration’s plan to combat inflation this week; telling lawmakers she “hopes” prices will eventually come down.

“There’s no question that we have huge inflation pressures, that inflation is really our top economic problem at this point,” explained the Treasury Secretary.

It’s critical that we address it. I do expect inflation to remain high, though I very much hope it will be coming down,” said Yellen.

“We’re in the forecast of producing a new forecast for the mid-session. We’ll review the numbers,” she added. “It’s likely to be higher.”
