By The FirstSenate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer called for a “pathway to citizenship” for 11 million illegal migrants Wednesday, thrusting the issue of immigration back into the national spotlight just days after the pivotal midterm election.
“We’re short of workers. We have a population that’s not reproducing… The only way we’re going to have a future is if we welcome and embrace immigrants… Our ultimate goal is to get a path to citizenship for all 11 million undocumented people,” said the Democrat.
