By The FirstThe Daily Wire’s Candace Owens was able to raise more than $250,000 in support of Lt. William Kelly, the Virginia police officer fired for donating $25 to a fund for Kyle Rittenhouse.
“Owens launched a fundraiser for the fired official on Sunday, informing her massive following that Kelly has been living off his savings and his wife’s teacher salary since he was forced out of his livelihood,” the Daily Wire reports. “Her goal was $100,000, but that was swiftly surpassed by generous supporters in a matter of hours.”
Kelly appeared on Owens’ show Candace where she gave him the huge check.
“I don’t care how you spend it … but I do hope you sue the city,” Owens joked.
Kelly donated to a fund to support Rittenhouse last year and included the following message of support: “God bless. Thank you for your courage. Keep your head up. You’ve done nothing wrong. Every rank and file police officer supports you. Don’t be discouraged by actions of the political class of law enforcement leadership.”
