By The FirstSquad-member Ayanna Pressley confused millions of users on social media over the weekend when she bizarrely declared “Black and Latinx Commuters” are unfairly targeted by “fare evasion policies” in the country’s biggest cities.
“Black and Latinx commuters are disproportionately criminalized by fare evasion policies. Congress must pass my #FreedomtoMove Act to grant Black and brown riders the freedom to navigate their community without fear,” posted Pressley on Twitter.
“Why should only certain people be legally required to pay for public transportation?” asked one user.
“Simple solution: Pay your fare!” posted another.
