SO, NOT RACIST? DC Mayor Asks Residents to Have Photo ID ‘Before Heading Out’ in Public

DC Mayor Muriel Bowser raised eyebrows this week when she instructed all residents in the Capital to have “proof of vaccination and Photo ID” easily available “before heading out” into public.

“Remember that starting Saturday you will need these three things before heading out: 1. Proof of Vaccination (12 years +) 2. Proof of Vaccination and Photo ID (18 years +) 3. Mask,” posted the Mayor.

“To help stop the spread of COVID-19, the District of Columbia is launching a city wide vaccination entry requirement (VaxDC), which calls for establishments to verify that patrons are vaccinated against COVID-19. On January 15, 2022, per Mayor’s Order 2021-148, the District of Columbia will adopt a city wide vaccination entry requirement that requires COVID-19 vaccination to enter indoor facilities within the city,” writes the District’s official COVID-19 website.
