Back in September, U.S. Customs and Border Protection’s mounted officers were accused of whipping Hatian migrants attempting to cross the Rio Grande into Del Rio, Texas. Despite the agents denying the use of whips – and the photographer who captured the moment supporting that claim – Democrats made it about race and promised an investigation.
“To see people treated like they did, horses barely running over, people being strapped – it’s outrageous,” President Biden said. “I promise you, those people will pay. There will be an investigation underway now and there will be consequences. There will be consequences.”
There won’t be consequences.
According to Fox News, the Department of Homeland Security Inspector General has declined to investigate “Whipgate.”
“The DHS announced Tuesday that U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) initially referred the investigation to the Office of Inspector General (OIG), but that the OIG declined to investigate and referred the matter back to CBP’s Office of Professional Responsibility (OPR),” Fox News reports.
