SHOCK VIDEO: Migrant Holding Center Near Breaking Point in El Paso, Texas

A video taken by Texas Congressman Tony Gonzales shows extreme overcrowding at the Border Patrol Central Processing Center in El Paso.

According to Fox News’ Bill Melugin, who originally reported the story, the video was taken on Friday when 4,600 migrants were in federal custody. Capacity is only 1,040.

The footage shows migrants crammed into the El Paso facility, many of them sprawled out on mattresses and covered in emergency blankets on the floor.

The shocking video comes two days before Title 42, the Trump-era public health policy which allowed Customs and Border Patrol to quickly expel illegal migrants, is set to expire.

El Paso Mayor Oscar Leeser declared a state of emergency on Saturday in anticipation of a migrant surge in the coming days. During a press conference last week, Leeser said he expected the increase in migrant crossings to be “incredible” after Wednesday, when daily apprehensions and street releases could reach up to 6,000 per day.
