RED DAWN: Ukraine Pres Vows to Defend Country ‘To the Death’, Officials Say 2800 Russians Killed

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy posted a video on Twitter Friday night showing the leader remains in the heart of the capital city of Kyiv while his government claims more than 2,800 Russian soldiers have been killed in 36 hours of fighting.

“We’re all here,” Zelenskyy said in the video posted to Twitter. “We are in Kyiv. We are defending Ukraine.”

“This morning, we are defending our country alone. Just like yesterday, the most powerful country in the world looked on from a distance,” Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said Friday. “Russia was hit with sanctions yesterday, but these are not enough to get these foreign troops off our soil. Only through solidarity and determination can this be achieved.”
