Who would have guessed that defunding the police and pardoning rioters would lead to a spike in violent crimes?
It’s gotten so bad, even CNN can’t dodge the truth:
“Major American cities saw a 33% increase in homicides last year as a pandemic swept across the country, millions of people joined protests against racial injustice and police brutality, and the economy collapsed under the weight of the pandemic — a crime surge that has continued into the first quarter of this year,” CNN reports.
Now, many Democrats are worried that enabling lawlessness may have been a poor decision and could cost some seats come election time:
According to The Hill, “Crime could be the issue that, frankly, makes it impossible for Democrats to hold on to the House next year,” said Hank Sheinkopf, a New York-based Democratic consultant.
Sheinkopf continues: “[Too many on the left] don’t understand that crime and disorder are unacceptable to the entire population. People will lie to pollsters and go into the voting booth and vote for the person they think is going to protect them.”
