NOT A FAN: CDC Releases Holiday Guidelines, Window Fans and Masks Indoors Recommended

If you’re planning on getting together with friends and family this holiday season, the Center for Disease Control and Prevention has a few precautions for you to take.

First, they suggest getting together virtually, because nothing says “the holidays are here” like a nice Zoom call with your family. If you must get together, the CDC recommends lots of fresh air.

“If celebrating indoors, bring in fresh air by opening windows and doors, if possible. You can use a window fan in one of the open windows to blow air out of the window. This will pull fresh air in through the other open windows,” the CDC said.

Indoor masks are also still on the holiday menu.

“Mask-wearing indoors is still recommended for unvaccinated people, along with wearing masks outdoors in crowded settings. Fully vaccinated people are recommended to wear masks in areas with substantial COVID-19 transmission,” Fox 5 reports.
