By The FirstVice President Kamala Harris weighed-in this week on Florida’s new education law; calling the bill “hateful legislation” that targets America’s “LGBTQI+ youth.”
“To our LGBTQI+ youth—Never doubt for one second that you are loved for being exactly who you are. Hateful legislation will not deter our fight to make sure that every family and every student should be treated equally and with dignity in our nation,” posted Harris on Twitter.
Florida Governor Ron DeSantis signed the legislation Monday. The bill prevents public school educators from including “gender identity” conservations in curriculums for students between the ages of five and seven.
