MASK WARS: Newsom’s California has Twice the COVID Rate of DeSantis’ Florida

Even with stricter mask requirements and a higher vaccination rate, it seems California is seeing more COVID cases then Florida – a state that was criticized for its pandemic response.

According to Fox News, “Cases in California are no longer falling, with the rate increasing to the CDC’s red ‘high’ level of virus transmission stemming from the delta variant…But Southern states such as Texas and Florida – where state leaders do not enforce face mask policies or support other strict mandates – are in the CDC’s orange “substantial” transmission level.”

62% of Californians are vaccinated compared to 60% of Floridians.

California Governor Gavin Newsom has been pushing strict measures, even being the first state in the nation to mandate vaccinations for school children. But they continue to see cases rise.

Meanwhile, Florida reported its second week of the lowest rate of new COVID-19 cases in the country. No mandates, passports or lockdowns.
