LIBERTY FOR CUBA: Protestors Rise Up Against Communist Regime; GOP Tweets Support

It’s the biggest protest in decades.

Cubans have had enough: food shortages, poverty, decades of failed socialist agendas. Thousands of men and women now line the streets chanting “Freedom,” “Enough” and “Unite.” Some citizens even waved the American flag.

Prominent members of the GOP were quick to show their support on social media, as the White House spun a narrative about medicine shortages being the root cause.

But support from voices on the far left is nearly non-existent, with squad members and Democratic Socialist Bernie Sanders deciding to stay quiet on the matter.

According to Fox News, they have “emailed Reps. Ilhan Omar, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Rashida Tlaib and Sen. Bernie Sanders and has yet to receive a response from any of them. As of early Monday, none have even mentioned the protest on social media.”

Senator Sanders famously defended some of Cuba’s policies on 60 Minutes, saying, “We’re very very opposed to the authoritarian nature of Cuba but you know, it’s unfair to simply say everything is bad. You know? When Fidel Castro came into office, you know what he did? He had a massive literacy program. Is that a bad thing? Even though Fidel Castro did it?”
