By The FirstA top economic advisor to Joe Biden confused countless Americans Thursday when he blamed the country’s continuing meat shortages on a “small number of producers.”
“Those are very concentrated industries, where a small number of meat processors control the industry,” said Biden’s National Economic Council Director.
“The question of grocery prices and the increase of grocery prices that we’ve seen over the last couple of months. If we unpack that, one of the interesting findings is that about half of the overall increase can be attributed to a significant increase in prices in three products: beef, pork, and poultry,” said Deese earlier this year.
