Russian authorities will extend the sentence of WNBA star and former Olympian Brittney Griner for at least another 60 days, according to the Daily Mail. Griner was originally detained for carrying a cannabis-filled vape pen.
Her arrest has been extended until May 19th.
“The court granted the request of the investigation and extended the period of detention of the U.S. citizen Griner until May 19,” CNN reported, citing Russian state news agency TASS.
Griner is pleading not guilty to the charges.
