‘F*** Your Thoughts and Prayers’ State Rep. Gives Obscene Response to Michigan Mass Shooting

At least 3 people were killed and 5 wounded after a lone gunman opened fire on the Michigan State University campus on Monday night. According to police, the gunman was later found dead from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound.

While there has been an outpouring of sympathy since Monday night’s shooting, Michigan House of Representatives Majority Whip, Democrat Ranjeev Puri, decided to offer a different response.

“F*** your thoughts and prayers,” Puri tweeted on Tuesday. The sentiment was also included in the Democrat’s official statement on the matter.

Authorities have identified the suspect in the deadly mass shooting as 43-year-old Anthony Dwayne McRae, who’d been previously busted for carrying a loaded firearm without a concealed-weapons permit in 2019. McRae served no prison time for the crime.

McRea’s motive is still unknown.

“We can confirm that the 43-year-old suspect had no affiliation to the university,” Chris Rozman of the Michigan State University Police said. “He was not a student, faculty, or staff, current or previous.”
