Phil Solorzano, owner of six Solorzano’s Pizzerias in Sarasota County, was struggling with Bidenflation and supply chain slowdowns – prices for key ingredients were through the roof.
“Pepperoni more than doubled. Most products have doubled,” Solorzano told Patch. “Kenny [Palin, general manager and franchise owner] has been telling me for months there are products you can’t find, that are out for two to three weeks. It’s just a pain in the butt.”
Solorzano decided to express his anger through pizza – and the ‘FJB Pizza’ was born.
“Business owners have also reached out to us and said hey, listen, we wish we were in a position where we could be true to ourselves and say what we really want to say,” said Kenny Palin, general manager and franchise owner.
“I’m not trying to be cocky. We have a very good product and we know what we’re doing. We have outstanding loyal customers that love our product. They might not agree with our politics or some of the stupid things I post on Facebook and that’s okay,” said Solorzano.
“It’s good fun, it’s light hearted humor. It’s politics and it’s not meant to be the end all be all,” said Palin.
