BORDER BLITZ: U.S. Customs and Border Protection Records 200K+ Encounters in July

It’s the highest monthly figure in two decades.

The U.S. Customs and Border Patrol recorded more than 200,000 encounters at the southern border in the month of July, according to David Shahoulian, assistant secretary for border and immigration policy at the DHS. 19,000 of those encounters were unaccompanied children.

Crossings are up more than 400% from July of last year, when 40,929 were recorded.

“These constitute the highest numbers of monthly encounters recorded by CBP in more than twenty years, including during previous surges when the Department was not constrained by COVID-19 capacity considerations,” Shahoulian wrote.

While immigrants continue to flood the border in record numbers, there’s no sign of ‘Border Czar’ VP Kamala Harris. There’s currently a bi-partisan effort to replace Harris with Obama-era Department of Homeland Security Secretary Jeh Johnson.

But the blame may ultimately lie with Biden -and at least one Republicans is calling for impeachment.

“Rep. Chip Roy (R-TX) called for Democrat President Joe Biden and Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas to both be impeached on Monday, citing the administration’s continually worsening border crisis,” reports the Daily Wire.

“What Joe Biden is doing at our border is impeachable,” Jesse Kelly, a political commentator, responded. “It’s more impeachable than Watergate. This is an attack on the sovereignty of America and it’s coming from the Oval Office. Republicans should move to impeach after 2022.”
