Trudeau made the announcement on Instagram.
“Sophie and I would like to share the fact that after many meaningful and difficult conversations, we have made the decision to separate,” wrote Trudeau.
The Prime Minister’s latest public appearance was at an LGBTQ pride event on Prince Edward Island.
