‘STOP TALKING AND SIT DOWN’: Twitter Blasts Warren for Going After Musk’s Wealth, ‘He Paid $11 Billion in Taxes’

Not everybody is happy that Tesla and Space X billionaire Elon Musk bought Twitter. In fact, liberals are using the buyout as proof that we need a wealth tax and Musk needs to pay his fair share.

“This deal is dangerous for our democracy. Billionaires like Elon Musk play by a different set of rules than everyone else, accumulating power for their own gain. We need a wealth tax and strong rules to hold Big Tech accountable,” Senator Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) tweeted.

But Musk paid $11 billion in taxes in 2021, CNBC reported last year, adding he “faces a hefty tax bill this year — possibly the biggest in U.S. history.”

“For those wondering, I will pay over $11 billion in taxes this year,” the Tesla CEO tweeted late last year.

Twitter quickly came to Musk’s defense, sharing the CNBC article and the hefty tax bill number. ’11 Billion’ started to trend on the social media platform shortly after.
