He says he’s America’s longest coronavirus-quarantine patient

Carl Goldman and his wife were aboard the Diamond Princess Cruise in January when they, along with thousands of other passengers and crew, were told that their 16-day voyage would be extended by another two weeks. Their stay would not be leisurely or voluntary. They’d been quarantined off the coast of Japan due to the discovery that a fellow traveler had tested positive for the novel coronavirus.

Carl joined Mike Slater during a special program entitled “COVID-19: America Fights Back” which debuted Monday on TheFirst and is running throughout the week. During the interview, Carl discussed being diagnosed with the disease and his personal saga fighting it, as well as how he and his wife managed to get through the ordeal in a very confined space. Carl, owner of KHTS – AM 1220 in Santa Clarita, CA has been keeping a fascinating, suspenseful, and hopeful journal here.
