According to the New York Post, U.S. Customs and Border Protection officials encountered 164,973 migrants at the southern border last month, 30 percent of whom had at least one prior interaction with border officials within the past 12 months. “There was a smaller increase (4.7 percent) in the unique number of people apprehended, to 116,678 in February from 111,437 in January,” the Post reported.
Now, Fox News’ Bill Melugin is reporting that Border Patrol Agents in the Del Rio sector have arrested a convicted murderer and a convicted sexual predator among the soaring numbers.
“NEW: Border Patrol agents in Del Rio sector arrested a convicted murderer and a convicted child sex predator after they crossed illegally. Agents also recovered a 5-year-old boy who was traveling alone. No parents. Just a birth certificate,” Melugin tweeted.
Arizona gubernatorial candidate Kari Lake shared the tweet and responded.
“I remember when someone told us “they aren’t sending their best” & the Media spent 4yrs calling him racistAnother dollar in the “Trump was right” jar. There’s a real human cost to open borders. Finish the wall & send armed Arizona Natl Guard to stop anyone from crossing into AZ.
