A new report from the New York Post says the White House is working behind the scenes with mainstream media outlets in an attempt to get more positive coverage.
The administration is reportedly “not happy” with stories on the economy, the supply chain crisis and more. Administration officials “have been briefing major newsrooms over the past week,” a source told CNN’s Oliver Darcy.
“The meetings have been led by a trio of administration officials: National Economic Council deputy directors David Kamin and Bharat Ramamurti, as well as ports envoy John Porcari, Darcy wrote in his newsletter,” the Post reports.
Folks on Twitter lambasted the administration for attempting to influence the press:
