30 DEMS DOWN: Rep. Kathleen Rice the Latest to Announce Retirement

A red wave is all but guaranteed at this point, as House Democrats abandon ship in record numbers.

Democratic Rep. Kathleen Rice (NY) was the latest to announce she won’t be returning to the House of Representatives once her current term is up. Rice is the 30th Democrat to get out of Dodge.

“Though I will not be running for re-election to Congress this year, I will remain focused on protecting our democracy and serving my constituents throughout the rest of my term,” Rice said. “As I turn to the next chapter of my own personal and professional story, I do so with profound thanks to the community leaders, colleagues and staff who have lived our shared commitment to service with courage and humility.”

The NRCC shared the news on Twitter:

“.@KathleenRice’s becomes the 30th House Dem to call it quits — the highest total since 1992. Whether it’s inflation or retirements, @HouseDemocrats keep breaking records!”
