Former President Obama is turning 60 – and inviting 700 of his closest friends to celebrate.
In a move that flies in the face of recent CDC recommendations, 44 is lining up a birthday rager on his $12-million dollar 30-acre waterfront property in Martha’s Vineyard.
According to Axios, all guests will be asked to be vaccinated and there will also be a “COVID coordinator” to ensure safety protocols are followed.
Obama’s B-day bash announcement comes just days after health officials on Martha’s Vineyard issued a mask advisory for indoor public spaces – even for folks with the vax – because of rising cases of the COVID’s Delta variant, The Vineyard Gazette noted.
President Biden will not be attending the event.
According to a spokesperson for Biden, “While President Biden is unable to attend this weekend, he looks forward to catching up with former President Obama soon and properly welcoming him into the over-sixty club.”
