LOESCH ON OLYMPICS BOYCOTT: ‘Meaningless Unless Businesses and Athletes Pull Out’

The Biden administration has officially announced a diplomatic boycott of the 2022 Winter Olympics in Beijing due to China’s human rights abuses in Xinjiang.

“The Biden administration will not send any diplomatic or official representation to the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics and Paralympics games given the PRC’s ongoing genocide and crimes against humanity in Xinjiang,” White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki said Monday.

“US diplomatic or official representation would treat these games as business as usual in the face of the PRC’s egregious human rights abuses and atrocities in Xinjiang, and we simply can’t do that,” Psaki added.

Psaki says it wouldn’t be fair to prevent athletes from attending and encourages other countries to make their own decisions.

Conservative radio host Dana Loesch shared her thoughts on Twitter, suggesting a diplomatic protest is toothless.

“So not a real boycott. Unless businesses and athletes pull out, this is meaningless.”
