DAY 2: Jackson Prepares for Confirmation Marathon, Questions From 22 Senators

President Biden’s Supreme Court nominee Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson is gearing up for day two of her confirmation hearings, set to kick off at 9AM.

“Senate Judiciary Chairman Dick Durbin told reporters Tuesday that 22 senators will get 30 minutes to pose questions to Jackson, after opening statements were made on Monday,” Fox News reports.

“Finally she gets to speak,” Durbin said. “Yesterday she had to sit there and listen. While some praised and some condemned, now she’ll have a chance to respond. That’s only fair.”

Let’s hope Jackson gets treated with more respect than Amy Coney Barrett. MSNBC’s Nicolle Wallace called Jackson an “overwhelmingly qualified pick” while suggesting Barrett was a “real right-wing lunatic.”
