By The FirstA top aide to NYC Mayor Eric Adams was reportedly robbed at gunpoint in Brooklyn while this team scouted a location for a visit from the Democratic Leader.
“The aide, a civilian member of Adams’ advance team, was mugged by two men who approached him as he stood on a traffic island at the intersection of Navy and York streets around 10:30 a.m., sources said. The crooks demanded his wallet and cellphone, and pushed him to the ground when he refused to hand them over, sources said,” reports the NY Post.
“The robbers then grabbed the items and fled, with one — described as a black male wearing a blue and white sweatshirt — making his getaway on a Citi Bike, sources said. The other suspect was described as a black male wearing sunglasses and a blue mask,” adds the newspaper.

The victim, 33, walked one block south to the Sands Street entrance to the former Brooklyn Navy Yard, where he found a security guard and called 911, source familiar with the incident said.
The site is undergoing a $2.5 billion redevelopment that included the 2019 opening of the Big Apple’s first Wegmans supermarket, which proved wildly popular and led the grocery chain to announce another outlet in Manhattan set to open next year.
Tuesday’s mugging came amid a surge in crime since Adams, a former NYPD cop, was elected last year after running on a pledge to restore law and order to the Big Apple.
