BREAKING: Manhattan DA Says Trump ‘Created a False Expectation’ of Arrest

Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg released a statement Thursday accusing former President Donald Trump of “creating a false expectation” of his impending arrest.

“Your letter … is an unprecedent inquiry into a pending local prosecution. The letter only came after Donald Trump created a false expectation that he would be arrested the next day and his lawyers reportedly urged you to intervene,” District Attorney Alvin Bragg’s office wrote.

“If charges are brought at the conclusion, it will be because the rule of law and faithful execution of the District Attorney’s duty require it,” he added.

“The letter’s requests are an unlawful incursion into New York’s sovereignty,” wrote the Manhattan district attorney’s general counsel Leslie Dubeck.
